What Happened to Joondalup Jungle Gym?

Joondalup Jungle Gym located at 27 Winton Road was the first Jungle Gym centre to open, back in 1988.  As a consequence by 2008 after 20yrs it was looking very tired and needed a revamp. 

We thought that it would be easy, but not so.

It took many months to receive Council approval and the price of renovations rose

considerably.  We then began asking the relevant question,

“Was this still the correct location for a Jungle Gym to serve the northern corridor?”

Issues :

>Inadequate on site and off site parking - resulting in conflict with neighbours and

     children crossing a major road

>Access from the north particularly between 3.30 - 4pm after school around the intersection of Shenton Ave and Pontiac Way extremely congested.

>Site not large enough to accommodate 4 party rooms as available at Willeton which gives all party Mums/Dads more time in the kitchen and eating area. Major concern at the Joondalup venue.

Decided NO, needed a new site.  So we have closed the venue and are looking for  a new site on at least 4,000m2 of land, that is easily accessible to all our customers.

To date we have not been successful, but are still looking.
